Energy saving Montage

The increasing threat of climate change demands that the energy performance specification of the heating, lighting, hot water and ventilation of our new homes contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Lacey Simmons is pursuing a number of initiatives that include the provision of air and ground source heat pumps, solar water heating, photovoltaic energy, rainwater harvesting, upgraded draught proofing, loft and cavity wall insulation and low emissivity double glazing. Selected units being built on a new development at Oak Tree Drive, Guildford, that will be offered for sale in January 2008, will provide at least 10% of the energy demand from renewable energy sources.

A commitment to the use of renewable energy is now essential if house builders are going to contribute successfully to the reductions of greenhouse gas emissions through environmentally friendly new homes. It is early days yet, but Lacey Simmons is committed to having the right skills and structures in place to embrace the new technology.
